06 Apr Bring Steak To Room Temperature Before Cooking
Professional chefs around the world proclaim that in order to cook a great steak, you must take the meat out of the fridge at least 10 minutes before cooking it. By getting the steak to room temperature, it gives you so much more control over the cooking process.
Let’s say you were wanting a steak to be cooked medium-rare, if the steak is placed straight on fry-pan or grill cold, you will more than likely need to burn the outside of the steak in order to get the desired medium-rare finish in the middle which is not want you want.
(Let me point out that don’t leave the steak out on the bench-top all day as this will probably kill you, you just need to allow the steak to reach room temperature, and once it has cook is straight away! Safety first!
By allowing the steak to reach room temperature first, you can get a nice seared crust on the outside of the steak, with a perfect medium/rare pinkish blush on the inside of your steak which is the result you want.
